This month – we are celebrating ten years. Wooo. We couldn’t let this milestone go by without a little bit of reflection and reminiscing. Black Canvas. Founded in 2009. TEN YEARS! More than ability, more than creativity, more than business-know-how, we are proud of our consistency. We show up. We keep going. We work hard. We have ah-mazing clients who are our brand ambassadors, who keep coming back for more and who tell others about what we do too. Our team are certainly 10 out of 10ers. And our friends and family have helped and cheered us on the whole way. We don't do life alone. Success comes in the steps of those who walk with us. We can do more together than we can apart. Thank you all for playing a special part in the Black Canvas journey. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

2. Ten years of logo loving

Our all-time favourite part of this creativity gig is to design logos and develop brands.

Our style is simple and streamlined. We love that when we help in this early phase, a platform for all future communication is created and helps bring confidence of presentation to everything that follows. We have designed at least a logo a week for the last ten years and are proud to say that many of our designs are still going strong. The logo process is an exhausting but a rewarding one – so many hours invested into such a small mark!

3. Ten years of sisterhood

One of the greatest constants we have had in our ten year journey is sisterhood.

We are a proud sister-run-biz. We don’t fight. We finish each other’s thoughts. We have complementary strengths. We are different, but similar. We answer when you call us the other one’s name. We fit together well. It works. Love our sister duo. Celebrating this sister act and our consistent companionship along the way. How crazy good that we both chose the same career! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

4. Ten years of the Whitehorse

We are lovers of our hood.

Toowoomba has so many exciting things happening in this part of the world right now - it’s fantastic to be amongst it. And... for ten years we have called the Whitehorse building home. Our little studio is where the creativity comes!

5. Ten years of cool clients

We are super thankful for our very cool clients. 😎

We love to serve through design and we are grateful for the trust placed in us for projects and brands, both locally and far afield. We really value relationship and connection, and some of these connections have lasted all of those 10 years. Now that is worth celebrating!

Reliable. We have a fast response time. We deliver on promises. We have a team of professional designers so our workflow is efficient and thorough with an end product that looks a cut above the rest.

Consistency. From your logo to your print collateral, to your online presence - we do the lot. We love seeing a brand seamlessly transition from one element to the next.

Passionate. We work hard, we have fun and we love what we do. We bring enthusiasm, passion and a can-do approach to each job we work on.

Problem Solvers. We see possibilities in the problem, not problems in the possibilities.

8. Ten years of business + motherhood 

Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work.⠀

We are mums. We work. We multitask. It can be a juggle. But we are so thankful for the colour and chaos they bring. Our littlun’s are what make this Canvas so worthwhile. We are super thankful for our husbands, Mums, Dads and in-laws who help us do this!

9. Ten years of creativity

Just doing what we do, cause we were born to do it!

The creative industry is the best industry. We are problem solvers and solution seekers. Our friends and family don’t totally know what it is we do – but let’s just say there is a lot of clicking, chuckling and chocolate involved in the creative process. We love to serve others through design – it’s our passion and purpose. It is so good to help give businesses and organisations a confidence boost by making them look as good as they feel.

We oh so love working with marketing experts! When fantastic ideas are executed in a dynamic and visual way – well that is a winning combination. We work with an amazing range of people, departments and industries - each day is a surprise!
